Cocodrile Gombo : “La musique fait tourner le monde”.
Depuis 1993, je suis de plus en plus la musique Cajun et Zydeco. Je n’ai jamais été aussi agréablement surpris par la qualité et l’atmosphère d’un album que celui du groupe Cocodrile Gombo de France, … que j’ai découvert grâce à un article du Florida Cajun & Zydeco Magazine des États-Unis. Oui, la musique fait tourner le monde.
Je suis la musique de C&Z en raison de l’image globale qui s’est développée au fil des siècles. La musique qui unit les gens, la danse, la bonne nourriture, la cuisine cajun étant connue dans le monde entier, et le fort sentiment de famille. Avec le canular du COVID, tout cela a été supprimé. Une musique comme Cocodrile Gombo fait revivre ce sentiment. Cela me rend très heureux.
Chaque semaine, je scrute Spotify et YouTube avec les termes de recherche “Musique Cajun” et “Musique Zydeco”, jamais les chansons de Cocodrile Gombo ne me sont venues à l’esprit, et puis de tous les endroits, un magazine de l’autre côté du monde, le Florida Cajun & Zydeco Magazine, attire mon attention sur le groupe. Et comment, avec un titre qui crie pour attirer l’attention : “So this is what Pink Floyd sounds like playing Cajun music”, avec un tel titre, vous devez lire l’article immédiatement et commencer à découvrir la musique.

Cocodrile Gombo: “Music Makes The World Go Round”
Since 1993 I have been following Cajun & Zydeco music to an increasing degree. Never before have I been so pleasantly surprised by the quality & atmosphere of an album as that of the group Cocodrile Gombo from France, … which I discovered through an article in the Florida Cajun & Zydeco Magazine from the U.S. Yes, music makes the world go round.
I follow C&Z music because of the total picture that has grown so much over the centuries. Music that unites people, dancing, good food, Cajun cuisine is known around the world, and the strong family feeling. With the COVID hoax, all of that has been suppressed. Music like that of Cocodrile Gombo revives that feeling all over again. It can make me very happy.
Every week I scan Spotify and YouTube with the search terms ‘Cajun Music’ & ‘Zydeco Music’, never the songs of Cocodrile Gombo came to my mind, and then of all places, a magazine on the other side of the world, the Florida Cajun & Zydeco Magazine, draws my attention to the band. And how, with a title that screams for attention: “So this is what Pink Floyd sounds like playing Cajun music”, with a title like that you have to read the article right away and start discovering the music.

Sinds 1993 volg ik de Cajun & Zydeco muziek in toenemende mate. Nog nooit te voor was ik zo aangenaam verrast door de kwaliteit & sfeer van een album als dat van de groep Cocodrile Gombo uit Frankrijk, … die ik ontdekte via een artikel in het Florida Cajun & Zydeco Magazine uit de V.S. Ja, muziek laat de wereld draaien.
Ik volg de C&Z muziek vanwege het totale plaatje wat door de eeuwen zo gegroeid is. Muziek die mensen verenigd, dansen, lekker eten, de Cajun keuken is bekend over de gehele wereld, en het sterke familie gevoel. Met de COVID hoax is dat allemaal in de verdrukking gekomen. Muziek als die van Cocodrile Gombo laat dat gevoel weer helemaal opleven. Ik kan daar heel blij van worden.
Elke week scan ik Spotify en YouTube af met de zoektermen ‘Cajun Muziek’ & ‘Zydeco Muziek’, nooit kwamen de nummers van Cocodrile Gombo bij mij inbeeld, en dan uitgerekend via een magazine aan de andere kant van de wereld, het Florida Cajun & Zydeco Magazine, dat mijn aandacht op de band vestigt. En hoe, met een om aandacht schreeuwende titel; “So this is what Pink Floyd sounds like playing Cajun music”, met zo’n titel dan moet je wel gelijk het artikel lezen en de muziek gaan ontdekken.
