Bayou Alligators
De Bayou Alligators is een Duitse band. De muziek die ze spelen is, Cajun & Zydeco en Rythm’n’Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll en Roots. De hoofdzaak is dat deze sound het Louisiana gevoel naar boven brengt.
De band is ontstaan in 2008 uit de band “The Zydeco Alligators”. Deze band bracht 2 cd’s uit en toerden 7 jaar door Duitsland, Nederland, Zwitserland, Tsjechië en Slowakije. Ze wonnen in 2002 de Blues Award op het internationaal bluesfestival in Dresden en ook in 2004 de Europese Cajun & Zydeco Award. Ze deelden het podium met bekende artiesten zoals John Hammond jr., Popa Chubby, Gwyn Asthon, Ana Popovic, Candy Dulfer en de NDR Bigband. Het belangrijkste echter is dat publiek van de muziek geniet en niet meer van de dansvloer afgaat.Dus uit de sleur en in de dansschoenen aan.
De Bayou Alligators zijn nu terug uit de moerassen en hebben een nieuw programma, uit oude klassiekers en nieuw repertoire samengesteld. Het verschil met de Zydeco Alligators, nu staat het diatonische cajun accordeon als hoofdinstrument naast het karakteristieke wasbord op de voorgrond. Deze band onderscheid zich dat er bijzonder veel waarde aan wordt gehecht om met gastmuzikanten samen te werken, waardoor de muziek met een dobro of nog een mondharmonica wordt uitgebreid.
Het programma van de band is zowel een stijlvol en rijke vermenging van muziek stukken van Zydeco grootheden zoals C.J. Chenier of Buckwheat Zydeco, als vele eigen composities. Je merkt aan de band de grote speelvreugde, de pure energie maar ook de instrumentaal vertrouwde deskundigheid.
Zydeco is een ritmische zeer dansbare muziek van de Franssprekende Creolen uit Louisiana met wortels uit de blues. Het wordt op accordeon en wasbord gespeeld meestal begeleid door een band. Het woord Zydeco komt uit de parodie “Les haricots” ( zeg zarico) ne sont pas sale” (de bonen zijn nog niet gezouten).

Cajun Pioneers
The third CD from the German Cajun Pioneers is a tribute to musicians like Boozoo Chavis, Clifton Chenier, Marc Savoy and others. While their first and second CD were focused on traditional Cajunsongs, the new CD turns to Creole-Zydeco tunes. Inspired by the Louisiana originals the band plays their versions of classics like ‘Paper in my shoe’, ‘Tante Na Na’ and ‘Tite Fille’. The five band invited musical friends to accompany them. Ludwig Seuss on piano, Faron Kelf on steel-guitar, Johannes Epremian on second fiddle, Dr. Will and Anne Fräger on vocals and a four piece hornsection to give ‘Iko Iko’ the real Mardi Gras groove.Ludwig Seuss is the acclaimed piano and accordion player with his own zydecoband as well as member of the famous German rock’n roll band, ‘Spider Murphy Gang’. Steelguitar player Faron Kelf from England is a longtime collaborator with countrybands like the Unicorns. Dr. Will has his own 9-piece New Orleans Band called ‘Gangsters of Love’. His horn section is also part of the CD. The voice of Anne Fräger is known to Cajun Pioneers fans from their first CD for her yelps and yihaas with her remarkable voice. Finally Johannes Epremian, fiddle player for the band ‘Le Clou’, which just celebrated their 25th year joins in on second fiddle.Cajun Pioneers are Luitger Fräger on diatonic accordion and vocals, Hartmut Hegewald playing fiddles and srubboard, Klaus Warler on guitars, Olaf Markewitz on drums and fiddlesticks and Michael Bentele on bass.
In their fifth year they constantly try to improve their musical style without getting off the track. Since their appearance at the 2001 Raasmdonksveer Festival they have played venues in Germany, Holland and Austria for crowds up to 3000. Gary Hayman wrote: ‘The Pioneers are a refreshing delight of Cajun music with top stage performance’.
CAJUN ROOSTERS
The Cajun Roosters are a truly European band bringing together some of the finest Cajun and Zydeco musicians from the UK and Germany. They have rapidly gained a reputation as one of the most authentic Cajun and Zydeco bands in Europe which has put them in the forefront of the scene and is already earning them headline festival appearances not only in Germany but also in France, Netherlands, UK, Denmark, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Austria, and Belgium.They are equally at home playing blues festivals, jazz festivals, folk roots festivals, country festivals and Cajun festivals as their varied repertoire gives them an unmatched ability to cross over to so many audiences. They have also carved out a reputation as one of the most popular bands on the outdoor city stage circuit entertaining audiences in city squares all over Europe many of whom have never heard Cajun or Zydeco music before.
The band emerged when Chris Hall, famed accordion player, and Sam Murray on drums, both from England were recruited to join the members of The Cajun Pioneers, a German band that had previously forged a new trail and helped to spread the word about this music throughout Germany. The Cajun Roosters chapter was begun as Chris Hall used his experience and knowledge of the music to reshape the band into a tighter, leaner and more authentic machine with a groove that is second to none outside Louisiana. The band plays music from the Louisiana swamps and prairies north west of New Orleans. Cajun and Zydeco as the main course mixed with a healthy side order of bayou blues and swamped up rock n roll .. Ludwig Seuss Band Duitsland
Mit mittlerweile sieben CD’s im Gepäck, einer herausragender Allstarbesetzung und zahlreichen Fernsehauftritten ist die Ludwig Seuss Band in den letzten Jahren zu einer der interessantesten deutschen Blues und Zydeco Bands gewachsen. Der Pianist und Akkordeon Virtuose Seuss ist unter anderem festes Mitglied der
Spider Murphy Gang.Mit seiner eigenen Band vermischt Ludwig Seuss klassischen Piano-Boogie mit Jump-Blues und Louisiana-R&R. Seit Seuss auch noch den Zydeco aus New Orleans importiert hat und die Band hinter ihm tobt wie im tiefsten Sumpf Luisianas, ist der Erfolg für diese Band und ihren extrem tanzbaren Sound nicht mehr aufzuhalten.Ein Ludwig Seuss Konzert ist immer ein Erlebnis der Extraklasse. The Swamptones
The Swamptones spelen Louisiana party music, een mix van New Orleans R&B, Zydeco, Swamp pop en Rock’n’Roll.Buiten hun eigen nummers spelen ze muziek van Buckwheat Zydeco, Chubby Carrier, Dr John, Proffesor Longhair, Hank Williams, Neville Brothers, Zachary Richard en vele anderen.
De bandleden hebben o.a. getoerd met The Creole Zydeco Farmers, Katie Webster, Johnny Copeland, Chris Farlow, Memo Gonzalez and the Bluescasters en Angela Browne, en hebben in Duitsland, België, Nederland, Zwitserland, Luxemburg en Frankrijk gespeeld. The ZYDECO – PLAYBOYS
The Zydeco-Playboys are a international-conf. Partyband round the superb Accordeonist and Singer Oliver Kraus. Since ´94 is the Band live on stage. Fun, Party & the will of satisfiing the audience must be their feeling while they do their music live on stage.They have their roots definitly in the Zydeco-Sound. This music has basicly one sense – having fun, beeing happy, feel like movin to the party dance groove. So the spirit of the ZYDECO-PLAYBOYS should be spread out all over.
They do more & more own songs as well as originals from Buckwheat Zydeco, C.J.Chenier, Los Lobos and many arrangements of famous Coversongs to complete the party. They are great musicians on instruments and vocals. Generating a really hot & dancie sauce, so that nobody can´t keep still – they stir you up! And they always get a real good press.
