Blake Miller, Accordion & Fiddle Instructor
Petit-fils du constructeur d’accordéon bien connu Larry Miller, Blake a été entouré de musique et de culture cajun toute sa vie. Originaire de la petite ville de Iota en Louisiane, Blake, un francophone et compositeur francophone, a réussi à obtenir un diplôme en studier francophone de l’Université de Louisiane à Lafayette et dans le même temps a fondé le jeune groupe Cajun populaire The Pine Leaf Boys et est devenu membre du premier groupe d’origine louisianaise The Red Stick Ramblers. Il a également joué dans presque tous les autres groupes cajun / créole de renom, dont Balfa Toujours, Les Malfecteurs et Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, apportant sa forte identité culturelle et sa musicalité accomplie au monde. Maintenant joue avec le monde a parcouru les Revelers pendant les 4 dernières années en chantant et en jouant ses propres chansons au violon et à l’accordéon.
Grandson of well known accordion builder Larry Miller, Blake has been surrounded by Cajun music and culture his entire life. Hailing from the small town of Iota Louisiana, Blake, a fluent french speaker and songwriter, managed to acquire a degree in Francophone studier from The University Of Louisiana at Lafayette and in the mean time founded the popular young Cajun band The Pine Leaf Boys and became a member of the premiere Louisiana roots Band The Red Stick Ramblers. He has also served stints in just about every other cajun/creole band of note including Balfa Toujours, Les Malfecteurs and Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole bringing his strong cultural identity and accomplished musicianship to the world. Now plays with the world traveled Revelers for the past 4 years singing and playing his own songs on fiddle and accordion.
Kleinzoon van de bekende accordeon bouwer Larry Miller, Blake is zijn hele leven omringd door Cajun-muziek en -cultuur. Afkomstig uit het kleine stadje Iota Louisiana, slaagde Blake, een vloeiend Frans spreker en songwriter, erin om een graad in Franstalige studie te behalen aan de Universiteit van Louisiana in Lafayette en richtte ondertussen de populaire jonge Cajun-band The Pine Leaf Boys op en werd een lid van de première Louisiana Roots Band The Red Stick Ramblers. Hij heeft ook stints gediend in zowat elke andere cajun / creoolse band, waaronder Balfa Toujours, Les Malfecteurs en Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, waarmee hij zijn sterke culturele identiteit en muzikaal vakmanschap naar de wereld bracht. Speelt nu met de wereld bereisde Revelers voor de afgelopen 4 jaar zingend en spelen van zijn eigen liedjes op viool en accordeon.
Blake Miller & the Old Fashioned Aces are breathing new life into an old sound. It’s traditional Cajun music in a traditional setting, but more than that, it’s a powerhouse trio having fun. Whether they appear as an acoustic trio or a full electric band, finer musicians playing Cajun music cannot be found.
