Même avant le début de la saison des festivals au cours de la dernière année 2020, toute notre vie sociale a été sérieusement perturbée par un virus et le monde entier a été enfermé. Assignation à résidence stricte et distance sociale.
Festivals, oubliez ça, un festival cajun et zydeco n’est certainement pas une option, après tout, vous devriez pouvoir danser avec autant de contacts différents que possible et, souvent aussi proches que possible si vous vous connaissez bien. Comme au fil du temps la plupart des visiteurs viennent se voir comme «la famille Cajun et Zydeco», se serrer la main et s’embrasser est un rituel quotidien.
Je ne devrais pas entrer dans le champ politique a été jeté à mes pieds l’année dernière. Comment?
Toute notre vie est dominée par la politique et le coup du monde qu’ils ont commis en mars de cette année il y a 295 jours. Après tout, je compte les jours parce que je savais déjà depuis le premier jour. J’y ai travaillé 50 heures par semaine ou plus l’année dernière et j’espère que tout ira pour le mieux. Avec le président le plus détesté et détesté de tous les temps dans le rôle principal, nous allons vivre tout cela du 6 au 20 janvier.
Des semaines décisives qui sont à mon avis plus importantes que le résultat de la Première Guerre mondiale et de la Seconde Guerre mondiale réunis.
Cette semaine, j’ai déjà vu des images d’une fête du Nouvel An où des danses à l’ancienne se déroulaient, j’espère voir les images de cette fête de désobéissance civile.
Dans l’ensemble, j’attends quelques chansons qui seront écrites sur l’année dernière, un retour des chansons protestataires comme dans les 60e et 70e en particulier. L’histoire de l’esclave aux États-Unis était également une source de chansons de protestation qui étaient chantées en travaillant, plusieurs chansons ont trouvé leur chemin dans la musique cajun et zydeco. Dans la musique pop, nous avons déjà repéré les premières chansons protestataires d’Eric Clapton et de Van Morison, j’ai déjà écrit un texte et je cherche toujours des musiciens pour le compléter.
Cajun & Zydeco in 2021, will there be festivals again this year?

This week I already saw some images of a New Year’s party where old-fashioned dancing was going on, hopefully seeing the images of this civil disobedience party more this year.
All in all, I expect some songs that will be written about last year, a return of the protest songs such as in the 60th and 70th in particular. Slave history in the US was also a source of protest songs that were sung while working, several songs have found their way into cajun and zydeco music. In pop music we have already spotted the first protest songs by Eric Clapton and Van Morison, I have already written a text and am still looking for musicians to complete it.
Cajun & Zydeco in 2021, gaan er dit jaar weer festivals plaatsvinden?
Nog voor het festival seizoen begon in het afgelopen jaar 2020 werd onze gehele sociale leven ernstig verstoord met een virus en ging de gehele wereld op slot. Streng huisarrest en sociaal afstand houden.
Festivals, vergeet het maar, een cajun en zydeco festival is dan al helemaal niet aan de orde, er dient immers gedanst te kunnen worden met zoveel mogelijk wisselde contacten en, vaak zo dicht mogelijk bij elkaar als je elkaar goed kent. Aangezien na verloop van tijd de meeste bezoekers elkaar gaan zien als “de Cajun en Zydeco familie” is handen schudden en zoenen een dagelijks ritueel.
Ik moest mij niet op het politieke vlak begeven werd mij vorig jaar voor de voeten geworpen. Hoe dan?
Ons gehele leven wordt beheerst door de politiek en de coup du monde die zij in maart van dit jaar pleegden nu 295 dagen geleden. Ik tel immers de dagen omdat ik van dag #1 al wist. 50 uur per week of meer ben ik daar mee bezig geweest afgelopen jaar en heb goede hoop dat het allemaal ten goede gaat keren. Uitgerekend met de meest verfoeide en gehate president aller tijden in de hoofdrol, van 6 tot 20 januari gaan we dat allemaal beleven. Beslissende weken die belangrijker zijn in mijn ogen dan de uitkomst van WOI en WOII bij elkaar opgeteld.
Deze week zag ik al wat beelden van een nieuwjaarsparty waar weer ouderwets gedanst werd, hoopvol de beelden aanschouwt van deze burger ongehoorzaamheid party.
Al met al verwacht ik nog wel wat songs die er geschreven gaan worden over afgelopen jaar, een terug keer van de protestliedjes zoals in met name de 60th en 70th. De slaven geschiedenis in de VS was ook een bron van protest songs die gezongen weden tijdens het werk, verschillende liedjes hebben hun weg gevonden in de cajun en zydeco muziek. In de popmuziek hebben we de eerste protestliedjes al gespot door Eric Clapton en Van Morison, ik heb al een tekst geschreven en zoek nog naar muzikanten om het helemaal af te maken.
